Privacy policy
Scope and controller
This policy covers the website https://spence-pwa.co and the application https://app.spence-pwa.co. The controller for the processing described below is the non-professional publisher of Spence, established in France. The publisher can be contacted at [email protected]. Their identity is not made public under the rules applicable to non-professional publishers.
Local operation
Spence requires neither an account nor a bank connection. Household and expense data are stored only in the user's browser. They are not sent to the publisher, synchronised with a server or made accessible to the publisher.
Data stored in the application
Depending on how the service is used, local information may include the household name, member names or aliases, entered subscriptions and suppliers, amounts, due dates and the allocation of expenses between members. Users choose what information they enter.
Storage, retention and deletion
This information is stored in IndexedDB using RxDB, on the device and in the browser profile in use. It remains there until the user changes or deletes it. A dedicated section in the settings allows local data to be deleted. Deletion is permanent and the publisher cannot restore the data.
Technical connection data
When a user visits the website or application, the request necessarily passes through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical data such as the IP address, requested URL, timestamp, traffic routing data and system configuration information. The publisher adds no analytics tool and neither reviews nor exports individual logs.
Purposes, legal basis and retention
Technical data are processed to deliver, maintain the availability and performance of, and secure the website and application. The legal basis is the publisher's legitimate interest in providing and securing the service. Cloudflare retains these data for as long as necessary to provide and protect its services and comply with its legal obligations, under its terms and retention rules.
Recipients
Cloudflare, Inc. is the only service provider that may receive technical data required for hosting, delivery and security. Cloudflare acts in particular as a processor for Customer Logs and may act as a separate controller for certain Network Data. The publisher appoints no other recipient.
International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global infrastructure and technical data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Cloudflare safeguards these transfers using mechanisms recognised under the GDPR, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable and Standard Contractual Clauses. More information is available in Cloudflare's policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/policies/privacy/.
Cookies and local storage
The publisher sets no advertising or audience measurement cookie and uses no tracking tool. IndexedDB storage is used solely for the local functionality requested by the user. It is necessary to store entered information and is not used to track browsing.
Individual rights
Subject to the conditions provided by applicable law, individuals may request access to, correction or deletion of their data, restriction of processing, or object to processing. The right to data portability applies where its legal requirements are met. Because application data remain exclusively local and are inaccessible to the publisher, users manage them directly in the application and browser.
Exercising rights and complaints
Requests concerning technical data may be sent to [email protected]. Individuals may also lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, or at https://www.cnil.fr/.
Intended users and no profiling
Spence is intended for people aged eighteen or over. It carries out no automated decision-making or profiling. The publisher does not sell personal data or share them for behavioural advertising.
Policy changes
This policy describes the current version of Spence. It will be updated before any feature involving new collection is enabled, including a suggestion form. Material changes will be announced on the website. If the French and English versions differ, the French version prevails.
